Wednesday, December 27: If You're Just Joining Us
The news is as horrifying as it was yesterday, but not as bad as it'll be tomorrow
We’ve reached the point in the genocide where the apartheid state is actively making enemies with the UN. Israel announced this week that it will stop granting automatic visas to UN employees, claiming that humanitarian agencies have been 'complicit partners' in the tactics of Hamas. A clear and obvious sign that your murderous tactics are succeeding is when you label the United Nations as an adversary.
I harbor no delusions of how useless the UN can often be (special shoutout to the US and its endless willingness to block any meaningful resolutions), but to her credit, the UN special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories had this to say recently:
“In Gaza, Palestinian children are given sedatives to alleviate their pain while dying, as they cannot be treated. 80 days of heavy Israeli bombing have devastated the health system. This level of horror is unmatched in our lifetime.”
-Francesca Albanese
Describing a massacre in Gaza City, the UN issued a statement saying, “the IDF allegedly separated the men from the women and children, and then shot and killed at least 11 of the men, mostly aged in their late 20’s and early 30’s, in front of their family members. The IDF then allegedly ordered the women and children into a room, and either shot at them or threw a grenade into the room, reportedly seriously injuring some of them, including an infant and a child.”
Separately, Doctors Without Borders also released a statement saying children in Gaza have been 'exposed to extremely traumatic episodes' and 'their coping strategies have been taken away from them. There is no safe place and no sense of security. It must stop now.' When the humanitarian organizations are openly criticizing your ethnic cleansing strategies, it’s no surprise that Israel considers them enemies.
At this point, to ignore the war crimes unfolding in Gaza requires a superhuman effort in apathy and inhumanity. I urge you, dear reader, to open your eyes and the eyes of anyone in your vicinity who is unwilling to acknowledge the genocide taking place. If you have family or friends that refuse to understand the gravity of the situation in Gaza, perhaps consider excommunicating them from your life entirely.
From my perspective, if you’re one of the many people who’ve been keeping busy this holiday season posting fit pics and photos of your presents and the food you’ve been enjoying with loved ones, but haven’t bothered to say a single thing relating to Gaza or the genocide being carried out with our tax dollars, I assure you we will not be entering 2024 together. In the new year and for the rest of our respective lives, if you see me in public, act like you don’t know me. It’s absolutely personal and has everything to do with your priorities. If 20,000+ dead Palestinians aren’t enough for you to open your mouth, then don’t be surprised when I treat you like the unwelcome stranger that you’ve become.

6 Days in Indiana: How’s this for a story: Two fishermen in rural Indiana spotted something shiny under the highway. It turned out to be a mangled old pickup truck crashed next to a ravine. These guys spot the shoulder of a man pinned in the demolished truck. They poke the man, thinking he's gotta be dead. Turns out he isn’t. He opens his eyes, pinned in the truck, unable to move, and says he's been trapped there for 6 DAYS. The driver is rescued by first responders and flown to a hospital alive. Ordinarily, the weather this time of year would’ve killed him, but it’s truly a Christmas miracle that the weather in the Midwest this season has been uncharacteristically mild. I guess global warming has its upsides
Jeopardy’s Zionist Eviction: This article tells the story of apartheid apologist Mayim Bialik’s recent ‘departure’ from her role as host of the popular game show Jeopardy! You might recognize Bialik from her attempts at acting in awful TV shows like “The Big Bang Theory”, but you might not know that she’s a proud zionist who’s convinced that any criticism of the apartheid state is akin to antisemitism. Fortunately for all of us Jeopardy! enjoyers, Bialik will no longer have the opportunity to fill the gaping hole left by former host Alex Trebek’s death. With her newfound free time she can now dedicate as much energy as she wants to promoting the lies of the Israeli regime
