Yesterday, Kansas voters decided to protect the right to have an abortion in the state constitution, rejecting a ‘pro-life’ ballot referendum by a margin of 59-41%. This wide margin came as a surprise to some, especially considering Kansas’ recent history of going red every election including 56% of voters supporting Trump over Biden.
“The voters in Kansas have spoken loud and clear: We will not tolerate extreme bans on abortion.”
Rachel Sweet, campaign manager for Kansans for Constitutional Freedom
Although Republicans outnumber Democrats in Kansas, it’s becoming evident that the issue of abortion can and indeed does transcend party lines. The referendum vote being three months prior to the midterm elections raises interest in what the future may hold. Kansas is being closely watched especially because most of the neighboring states have already outlawed abortion access.

This article seems to paint cats, particularly outdoor cats, as a neighborhood menace. As a father to three cats (hoping to get rid of one, so if you know someone looking, holla), I can assure you reader that cats are indeed a menace, but they’re also generally pretty cute. If you consider the neighborhood cat a menace, you probably don’t have much sympathy for those suffering from homelessness. I don’t make the rules, but you’re probably a bad person
Further solidifying its position as the LEAST relevant professional sports league, Major League Baseball had a huge announcement yesterday as Juan Soto was traded from Washington D.C. to San Diego. The 23-year old is considered one of the best players in the league, and his new contract is worth $440 million, so I’m pretty confident he’ll land on his feet
