The Cheeto Fraud strikes again!
Donald Trump and 18 of his closest homies were indicted in Georgia yesterday over their obvious and unsuccessful efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state. Prosecutors in Georgia dropped the child’s play and hit Trump and his buddies with a RICO charge (that’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations, shoutout to The Sopranos) with prosecutors resorting to mob tactics to accuse the former president, his lawyers and other henchmen of a “criminal enterprise” to keep Trump in power. Sounds serious, but no orange jumpsuit yet for the Trumpster.
The nearly 100-page indictment describes in detail dozens of acts by Trump or his pals to undo his career-defining L, including begging Georgia’s republican secretary of state to find enough votes for him to win the battleground state. Prosecutors also chronicle how Trump attempted to persuade Georgia lawmakers to ignore the voters and appoint a new slate of electoral college electors favorable to him. In one especially bold episode, the indictment outlines a plot involving one of Trump’s lawyers to access voting machines in a rural Georgia county and steal data from a voting machine company.
That makes four indictments in five months for Trump, a remarkable tour of criminal cases, each in a different city! The man is really taking the campaign trail to a level never before seen. It really is a shame that nothing will come of it and he’ll still be allowed to run for president. How this country takes itself seriously remains a mystery to me. Eventually, once all the smoke clears from the latest indictment, we’ll be left facing the same question as before: are we prepared for another mob-style insurrection? My guess is nah dawg.

Blind Sided: Former NFL star Michael Oher, the man whose life story of being rescued by benevolent whites was immortalized in the 2009 film "The Blind Side" has learned a harsh truth. The narrative of his adoption out of grinding poverty by a wealthy, white family wasn’t the fairytale it was made out to be. Oher petitioned a Tennessee court yesterday alleging that the central element of the story was a lie concocted by the Tuohy family to enrich themselves at his expense. The petition alleges that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy (played to perfection by Tim McGraw and Sandra Bullock), took Oher into their home as a high school student, but never actually adopted him. Instead, less than three months after Oher turned 18, the couple tricked him into signing a document making them his conservators (similar to the Britney Spears situation), giving them legal authority to make business deals in his name. The petition goes on to state that the Tuohys used their power as conservators to strike a deal that paid them and their two birth children millions of dollars in royalties from the Oscar-winning film, while Oher got nothing for a story that literally could not have existed without him
Tale of Two Hawaiis: A Hawaiian resident was shocked after she said some Maui tourists were back to swimming and vacationing on the wildfire-ravaged island just days after victims' bodies were pulled from the water. You don't see Hawaiian people swimming, snorkeling, or surfing today. Nobody is having fun in a time of tragedy or continuing their life like nothing has happened. There are two Hawaiis emerging right now, existing simultaneously and worlds apart. There is the Hawaii that thousands are living and suffering in and the Hawaii that others are visiting and looking to exploit
Only in America: A woman fractured her ankle during a trip with her husband to the popular Italian food shop Eataly in Boston last year. Now she’s blaming her injury on a rogue piece of ham. Alice Cohen was making her way to an area where food samples are distributed to customers last October when she slipped on a piece of prosciutto (NOT THE PROSCIUTTO ALICE!!) and fell. Mrs. Cohen has filed a lawsuit in Suffolk Superior Court in Boston, claiming that she sustained “bodily injuries, a loss of enjoyment of life, pain and suffering, and incurred necessary medical expenses for medical care and attention”. Because this is America and our healthcare system is a cruel joke, her medical expenses, including a hospital visit and physical therapy, have resulted in more than $7,500 in bills. That’s some costly hog
