Sunday, January 21: Killer Machines
Once this machine gets warmed up, it takes awhile to slow down
Recently, a 17 year old Palestinian American was killed in the West Bank in just the latest of so many fatal shooting. Over 350 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire in the West Bank since October 7, in an area completely separate from Gaza and with no connection or involvement with Hamas. The Biden administration has done nothing but occasionally express concern about the increasing violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in recent months.
Hundreds of Palestinians are dying daily and the official death toll in Gaza has climbed above 25,000. The health ministry reports that 178 Palestinians were killed and 293 injured in the past 24 hours alone. The US government continues to fund and defend the military actions of an apartheid state. But to hear Biden administration officials talk, you’d think everything is going exactly as intended. They don’t think they’re at war, even as they conduct airstrikes in Yemen and advise Israeli military intelligence on targets to bomb.
Meanwhile, over at Columbia University in New York City, things are going swimmingly. Two students, apparently both members of the murderous IDF, decided to spray a chemical weapon on peaceful protesters on campus. Their weapon of choice was skunk spray, an agent commonly deployed against Palestinians in the West Bank by the Israeli occupation. The chemical spray is known to smell absolutely revolting and cause nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting, it’s called skunk spray for a reason folks, you can imagine how desirable that was.
One of the craziest parts of watching western coverage of this genocide is that it’s been established and proven that the Israeli regime killed many of its own citizens on October 7 intentionally, including burning Israelis alive. Israeli scholars and their media have reported on this, including this in-depth breakdown by Israeli journalists of the apartheid regime’s military response to the Hamas attack. Yet somehow western media has avoided writing a single word about it. Not a word in the BBC, NYT, The Guardian, AP, Reuters, etc. You’ve got corroborated evidence and testimonies from Israelis that their own military mass murdered Israeli civilians back on October 7, reported on in Israeli media, but intentionally ignored by all western media everywhere: US, UK, Germany, France. This is how you get a genocide in plain view.
Side Items
Stealing The News: Almost all the copies of a small-town Colorado newspaper were stolen from newspaper racks on the exact same day the paper published a story about rapes alleged to have occurred at a party featuring underage drinking at the local police chief’s house. I’m not generally a believer in suspicious coincidences, but this is a little too blatant to ignore. The Ouray County Plaindealer chose to respond by posting the story in full on their social media and removing its paywall on their website so people like you and I can read about the felony sexual assault charges filed against three guys, including a relative of the police chief, for actions that allegedly occurred at a party back in May 2023
Chicago’s Very Own: Murad Nofal and Mustafa Mabruk are the two cofounders of Wear The Peace, a Northwest Side clothing and accessories line that emphasizes Palestinian roots and Arab heritage. Their company saw a dramatic increase in sales recently, after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s daughter was seen wearing one of their popular crewnecks. Their website indicates that they’ve contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Gazan relief efforts over the years, so check out their collections and see if there’s anything you might be interested in
Killer Cop Gets Backpay: Think back almost five years, you may recall the tragic murder of Elijah McClain, a young man in Colorado who was held down by multiple police officers and injected with a dangerously high dose of ketamine. Well the Colorado officer who stopped McClain in 2019 and initially placed him in a neck hold was eventually reinstated to the Aurora police department and received more than $200,000 in back pay. In case you ever get curious about where all our money is going
