Sunday, April 2: Stolen Afghani Orphan Pt. II
Revisiting the story of a little girl stolen by a US Marine
Remember a few months back when we first mentioned US marine Joshua Mast and his wife, the couple who “rescued” a little Afghani girl and were raising her under the guise of adoption? Well, as previously mentioned, that was all an elaborate lie, as the little girl was taken away from her family who had been raising her.
Now a state court judge has voided the adoption, more than a year after Mast stole the little girl away from her Afghan relatives. Yet her future remains uncertain. The child will stay with Joshua Mast and his wife Stephanie for now, under a temporary custody order that they obtained prior to the adoption. The Masts will now face the challenge of re-proving to the court that they should be granted a permanent adoption (they definitely should NOT).
The girl, who is turning 4 this summer, was just an infant when she was found injured among the rubble after a US-led military raid in a rural part of Afghanistan in September 2019. She spent more than five months in a military hospital before the Afghan government and International Committee of the Red Cross determined she had living relatives, and united her with them.
Meanwhile, Mast the child snatcher learned about the baby while she was hospitalized, and decided that he and his wife should be her parents, “as an act of Christian faith” (the sheer audacity). The Masts lied to Virginia Circuit Court Judge Richard Moore, saying that she was the daughter of transient terrorists who died in the raid, and thus a stateless orphan. He claimed that the Afghan government was prepared to waive jurisdiction over her, another lie, and judge Moore granted him the adoption.
A follow-up hearing is scheduled for June, where hopefully a judge can see through the litany of lies and return this girl to her actual family. But in the meantime, the Masts will continue to hold the dishonorable distinction of being the most white savior members of the Christian faith. I struggle to think of an appropriate punishment for people who steal children from their family, using their faith as an excuse.

Trump Arrest Watch 2023: The search for justice/comeuppance re-commences this week, as the former president/hush money extraordinaire is expected to fly to New York this week from his swamp in Florida to be arrested. I won’t get my hopes up until he’s properly locked up, after all, the man’s been under some form of criminal investigation since the 1970’s; all those years of bypassing the rule of law make him even slippery-er than usual. At this point the scumbag might as well be a wet bar of soap in the shower
Israeli Politics: This article claims “Israel Is Somewhere It’s Never Been Before”, which is a lie. All the ongoing debate about how Israel should take back control of its leadership completely ignores the issue of how they continue to abuse the Palestinian population. This won’t come as a surprise to you, dear reader, but anytime I see one of these articles clearly written in bad faith, it’s important to point out the gaping holes in their logic
Army of Obesity: “The greatest fighting force in the history of humankind” apparently has a weight issue. New research found that obesity in the US military surged during the pandemic, as troops spent less time massacring innocent civilians and more time reaching for the Tostitos. In the Army alone, nearly 10,000 active duty soldiers developed obesity between February 2019 and June 2021, pushing the rate to nearly a quarter of the troops studied. Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with enjoying a treat; I’m much more likely to clown someone for joining the military
