Drew Barrymore, a formerly beloved actress and a lady with a net worth estimated at over $100 million, has recently exposed herself as a picket line-crossing scab. Barrymore was widely criticized for her recent decision to tape new episodes of her daytime talk show despite the ongoing writers strike. Fans and haters alike were critical of this choice to prioritize money and views over supporting the striking workers.
Well despite what we were taught in elementary school, it appears all that bullying and criticism worked in this instance. Barrymore now says she’ll wait until the labor issues are resolved before she returns to air. I’m sure Drew searched through the cushions at her $8 million Hamptons beach house, as well as the change jars at the two Central Park homes she combined to create her $10 million duplex, her $12 million Montecito mansion, and the lint trap at her home in the Hawaiin rainforest only to realize she doesn’t have the resources to pay her writers what they deserve.
Barrymore’s show employs three union writers, and rather than trying to meet the demands of the striking workers, her show resumed taping in New York last week and was picketed by striking writers. If every studio executive and corrupt CEO had the reaction that Barrymore is experiencing (albeit overdue) we certainly wouldn’t be in the position we’re in now. But all due credit to Drew for learning from her mistakes, she’s not perfect, but she’s better than most in her position.

Elon Musk Defends Actual Pedo: Former entertainer/actor/attention seeker Russel Brand has been accused of rape, sexual assault and abuse by four women who knew him, including a 16 year old girl. Three British news organizations reported Brand’s accusations this weekend, and the evidence included in their reporting is damning and comprehensive. The richest man in the world took this opportunity to advocate for Brand and posted his two cents on his social media site, saying, “I support Russel Brand. That man is not evil.” Many of the right-wing personalities who rail against Hollywood and the liberal elite have vocally supported Brand, which seems more than a little strange, considering how outspoken they typically are about the dangers of child exploitation
Lost Jet, Please Return: The merchants of death over at Lockheed Martin describe the F-35 fighter jet as the "most advanced fighter jet in the world," as well as the "most lethal, stealthy and survivable aircraft." So of course the US military put that claim to the test and appears to have lost one. How exactly does one lose an $80 million fighter jet, you may be asking. Military authorities were forced to ask the public for help finding the F-35 that went missing somewhere over South Carolina over the weekend. The pilot was forced to eject because of a “mishap”, and the jet was left in autopilot mode, so somewhere out there is a multi-million dollar piece of unaccompanied military equipment. That poor plane is probably so scared right now
Winter is Coming: Sunset in most of the US will be at/around 7pm this week. The sun won't set later than 7pm again until March 12th, 2024. I sincerely hope you guys had a great summer, because those days of fun in the sun are nearly over
