Palestinian activists and grassroots organizations have called for a global strike today to demand an immediate ceasefire as Israel continues its genocidal assault on Gaza. Muwafaq Sahwil, the secretary of Palestinian political party Fatah in the West Bank, said the strike is a rejection of last week’s veto by the US against a UN security council resolution to stop the violence in Gaza.
“This is a message to the US administration that stands against the aspirations of our people. It is also a message from people around the world to their politicians and the international community to stand up for the Palestinian people who have been suffering from occupation for 75 years.”
-Muwafaq Sahwil, secretary of Palestinian political party Fatah
At some point in the past two months, the western world stopped trying to even pretend to care about Israel’s open and obvious war crimes. This article from the Washington Post proves that the apartheid state did indeed utilize illegal white phosphorous bombs they claimed they never used, munitions supplied by the US of course, in an attack in October on southern Lebanon that injured at least nine civilians.
While the apartheid state is committing war crimes and murdering civilians at a rate higher than every war in the 20th century (including 10,000+ children), universities in the US are somehow still fixated on the genocidal threat posed by students saying the word intifada. We live in an absurd and twisted reality where we’re told that the problem is 20 year-old students using certain slogans, but not the most powerful nation on the planet arming, financing, and politically protecting a nuclear power that is actively committing genocide.
People want to talk about “both sides” within the context of what’s happening in Gaza, so let’s break it down real quick: the “both sides” frequently referred to in the Palestinian/Israeli narrative are clear-cut and undeniable. There’s the colonizer and the colonized, the occupier and the occupied, the oppressor and the oppressed, the persecutor and the persecuted, the ethnic cleanser and the ethnically cleansed. One side is trying to stop a genocide, the other side is trying to stop them from stopping a genocide. I hope this context is helpful.
It’s gonna be a long week. If you feel tired or hopeless or useless, always remember that it took 20 years, 2 trillion dollars, and 4 US presidents to finally replace the Taliban with…the Taliban. Whatever you’re going through, you can make it. Don’t give up, I believe in you.

Electoral Theater: Egypt is having “presidential elections” this week, which is really just another excuse to paste posters of the dictator Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi’s face all over town. Since seizing power in a military coup 10 years ago, Sisi has somehow won back-to-back presidential elections with 97% of the vote, the last of which came against a candidate who openly supported his rule. In another life, Egypt would be coming to Gaza’s aid right now, supporting the cause of Palestinian liberation. Sadly, the Egyptian leader is bought and paid for by western powers, and the Egyptian people are unable to change the horrific circumstances of their neighbors
Zelenskyy Visits Daddy: Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy is taking a break from spending American taxpayer’s money to visit Joey Biden at the white house this week to beg for more money. The Biden administration is in the process of putting additional pressure on congress to provide billions more in aid to Kyiv in its ongoing war with Russia. Biden has asked congress for an additional $110 billion of funding for Ukraine and Israel
The Goose Is Cooked: With Biden’s approval numbers at an all-time low, and with the useless geriatric running neck and neck with a republican front-runner who is currently under indictment in four separate cases, the democrats have turned to the big guns, namely Hilary Clinton. It appears the first person to lose to Donald Trump in an election is helping set up the next person to lose to Donald Trump in an election. These genius democratic strategists really said, “Oh no, we’re losing and everybody hates us…let’s go out and recruit another loser that everyone hates.” The empire is indeed in rapid decline my pals
