Monday, August 26: An Inconvenient Genocide
Looks like the democrats will continue to blatantly ignore their complicity
What a remarkably colossal waste of time and energy the democratic national convention turned out to be! The gathering of imperialist bozos took place in Chicago last week, featuring several days of added traffic and some of the most obnoxious tourists imaginable, along with a parade of the most popular American war criminals of the past 30 years.
Bill Clinton gave a speech, Genocide Joey Biden gave a speech, Barack Obama (naturally) gave a speech, and of course top cop Kamala climbed down from her coconut tree to regale us with a speech. This lady really got up on stage and promised that her priority as commander in chief would be to formulate “the most lethal fighting force in the world”, which would sound pretty promising if our tax dollars weren’t currently being used to fund a genocide in Palestine. Guaranteeing more money for the military as a priority is also quite telling when we’ve already got a shortage of affordable housing, spiraling healthcare costs, and atrocious infrastructure across the country.
The vice president has demonstrated her political leanings to be to the right of Ronny Reagan and George H.W. Bush when it comes to using military aid and humanitarian aid to stop the apartheid state from perpetuating mass killings and expanding illegal settlements. But she still claimed publicly that she’s doing everything she can to bring an end to the bloodshed.
Generally speaking, if you’re “working tirelessly for a ceasefire” and all you have to show for it after 10 months of war crimes is a very actively ongoing genocide, then you’re either incredibly bad at your job or you’re lying about the effort being put in. The problem with the suggestion that US leaders are “working tirelessly towards a ceasefire” is that it makes it sound like the US is somehow a neutral party in all of this. In reality, the US is funding, arming, and defending this genocide, literally the furthest thing possible from trying to establish a ceasefire. The US is the fire.
One of the groups welcomed to the DNC stage last week included parents of one of the Israeli hostages, who used the stage to call for a humanitarian exchange deal that would return hostages and, "end the suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza." No word yet on what the Palestinian contribution is to this discourse, since the democratic party that prides itself on inclusivity and tolerance was unwilling to allow Palestinians to speak for themselves.
The collection of clowns and morons that call themselves the democratic national committee told the Uncommitted delegates that no Palestinian would be allowed to speak from the stage, even a Palestinian of their choosing, even with a vetted speech. As usual, only one group of people is deemed worthy of being heard. In the words of members of the Uncommitted Movement: “We got word from the DNC that they will not allow a Palestinian-American speaker on the main stage, even though they created space for plenty of others - like a border patrol officer and the family members of an Israeli hostage.” Meanwhile, Palestinian protests outside the DNC were either ignored, mocked, or given brief and snarky write-ups. The entire convention was heavily policed and the security apparatus was out in full force, making clear that there’s simply no correct way to oppose genocide in Gaza. You’re either ignored, treated like a terrorist or called a joke.
While Kamala and the clown convention were busy ignoring Palestinian protests, the apartheid state continued to issue lethal “evacuation orders” in Gaza, forcing Palestinians into shrinking “humanitarian zones” where food and medical supplies are nearly impossible to come by. You could say that Palestinians are being concentrated in a way…almost into a camp of sorts. To put it bluntly, the genocidal Israeli military is currently chasing groups of increasingly sick, injured, exhausted, and traumatized Palestinians around Gaza, moving them from one arbitrary location to the next. We’re currently witnessing a death march in a dwindling area, funded and defended by the same folks begging you for your vote in November.

Winner of the Week: Anwar el-Ghazi, a Moroccan-Dutch football player who publicly supported Palestine was rewarded by having his contract terminated by German football club Mainze 05. The Bundesliga club suspended the Dutchman over a social media post showing support for Palestinians back in October. El-Ghazi sued the football club for wrongful termination and the case was recently resolved in his favor. He took to social media once more, thanking his club for their stupidity and pledging half a million dollars to projects for the children in Gaza. Revenge is a dish best served with a side of lots of cash
