Earthquakes, a solar eclipse, cicada invasions: the end is nigh my pals
The way things are going, the end times could be just around the corner folks. We’re a full six months into witnessing a genocide in Gaza, the ground is literally shaking in the biggest city in the western empire, and a solar eclipse is expected later today, giving this whole depressing period a very biblical feel. But not in a good way.
In these final days of Ramadan, with Eid just a few days away, there’s still little to celebrate in the way of ceasefire possibilities or even ‘humanitarian pauses’ for the Palestinian people. The onslaught of war crimes from the apartheid regime in Israel grows with each passing day, and the targets now apparently include western humanitarian organizations.
On Tuesday last week, three separate precision-guided Hellfire missiles were fired from an Israeli drone upon members of the World Central Kitchen staff, resulting in the deaths of seven food aid workers. World Central Kitchen is, quite obviously, a humanitarian aid organization dedicated to preventing famine in areas of extreme conflict, and they had coordinated this endeavor in Gaza with open communication with the apartheid state to prevent this exact kind of tragedy. This article discusses how this drone strike on an obviously unarmed target is an indication of the widening scope of the violence, which has already crossed international borders into Lebanon.
This article from +972 details Israel’s ‘Lavender’ military program, the AI software directing the apartheid state’s endless bombing spree in Gaza. This AI targeting program has tagged around 37,000 Gazans as suspected militants, with an error rate that admittedly sits around at least 10%, and has led to the systematic targeting of these potential suspects in their family homes. It’s a shockingly casual admission of war crimes and a clear look at how a genocidal military is utilizing artificial intelligence to further their devastation.
According to this article from CNN, the apartheid state is also undergoing a campaign of disappearing an unknown numbers of Gazan men into “camps” where they're blindfolded with all their limbs shackled and tortured. The article mentions that in these “camps”, medical care might mean getting a hand or foot amputated because the metal cuffs have cut into it and caused an infection. I swear we used to have a name for these “camps”, but the term seems to be escaping me at the moment.
The apartheid state is coming under increased scrutiny, as are the western nations propping up this cancerous regime. Earlier today, the International Court of Justice heard oral arguments from the central American nation of Nicaragua, which has brought a case against Germany, alleging that by providing political, financial and military support to the apartheid state of Israel, ze Germans are actually facilitating the commission of genocide and continue to fail the obligation to prevent genocide. Much like the previous South African ICJ case against the apartheid state, this case appears unlikely to result in material differences.
Last week, six Muslim community leaders met with president Biden, in yet another blatantly desperate attempt by this floundering administration to rescue their reputation before the election in November. Instead, many of the Muslim community leaders took the opportunity to press the old wrinkled coward on what he’s been supporting and funding and sharing some of the horrors of what’s happening in Gaza. The only issue is that in his decrepit old age, the demented fool lacks the mental capacity to even feign interest anymore.
Former presidential hopeful and future president of a homeowner’s association in hell Hilary Clinton found a reason to waddle onto the late-night TV circuit last week, appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s flop of a show to remind American voters who their choices for president this November are. When asked what she might say to American voters lacking enthusiasm for the two robustly idiotic candidates, Clinton casually croaked, “"Get over yourself. Those are the two choices." Comments like this remind me that while I’m generally an empathetic individual, I do look forward to celebrating the inevitable continued demise of madam Clinton.
It’s absolutely deranged because that man Joey Biden, really broke every one of his absurd campaign promises and has been a god-awful mistake of a president in general, but if he simply drew the line at genocide and was willing to hold the apartheid state of Israel accountable for their obvious and unforgivable crimes against humanity, I’d still be somewhat inclined to vote for him. But the past six months have provided ample evidence that he absolutely refuses to do that, so I won’t budge.
We’ve reached a point where it seems that every Palestinian remaining in Gaza has an active fundraiser now in the faint hope they can somehow raise the thousands of American dollars it takes to bribe the Egyptian border officials to let them out of their cage. Some have made it out successfully, but many are left wondering if this will be their final resting place. The whole world knows this and continues to simply watch it unfold.

NYC Earfquake: The biggest/most self-obsessed city in the US experienced its largest earthquake in modern memory last week when a 4.8 shock was felt throughout the metropolis. New Yorkers reacted exactly as expected, with jokes and general meme shenanigans, but the surprise quake led outlets like the New York Times to ask the hard-hitting questions like, “Is New York City Overdue for a Major Earthquake?”. As someone far removed and unaffected by the shock, I’ll admit I enjoyed the foolishness that ensued, but I always do my best not to make the mistake of underestimating how disastrous these kinds of natural disaster could be
Don’t Look Up (Without Proper Eye Protection): The solar eclipse today is occurring just after noon Central Time, and will involve the sun being blocked out by the moon for approximately 4 minutes. The zone of totality is limited in the US, but no matter where you are or how busy your day is, these celestial miracles are always worth a few minutes of your time. Be sure to wear the appropriate protective eye coverings, don’t be like our former president who boldly (and stupidly) stared directly into the last solar eclipse
Basketball’s Undefeated Champs: The women’s NCAA college basketball tournament wrapped up yesterday afternoon with the Iowa Hawkeyes battling the Gamecocks of South Carolina in the title game. Ordinarily I’d take any opportunity to criticize South Carolina (clearly the inferior Carolina), but their legendary coach Dawn Staley led her team to a remarkable achievement this season, becoming just the 10th NCAA Division I women’s basketball team to go through an entire season undefeated. Their final record after yesterday’s championship win was 38 wins and exactly zero losses. Untouchable
