Passive Voice Strikes Again: This article from The Guardian details how protesters in the Gaza Strip have been targeted by apartheid Israeli gunfire, but the headline tries desperately not to place blame. By claiming that “Gaza Strip protesters received bullet wounds to ankles” the journalists at The Guardian are leaving out the key element of how and why exactly these bullets are ending up in the ankles of Palestinians. I assure you dear reader, there aren’t bullets littering the streets of Palestine, waiting for the right opportunity to jump up and bite people in the ankle. These protesters are being deliberately aimed for in order to maim and prevent people from being able to walk in the future. The ankle joint is especially difficult to operate on as it bears the weight of the entire body. Surgery involves a complicated process called ‘free flap’ surgery, and doesn’t always mean the patient will be able to walk again. If the surgery fails, amputation is often necessary
Biden’s Border Wall: The old crusty hypocrite Joe Biden said this week that building a border wall is out of his control. His administration upheld a decision to disregard 26 federal laws in South Texas to allow for continued construction of ~20 miles of additional border wall. Biden claims he has no choice but to use the money allocated by former president Trump for the barrier to stop desperate migrants from entering the country. Back in his early days in office, Biden talked a big game, claiming that "no more American taxpayer dollars be diverted to construct a border wall". But his clever administration says that technically the money was already allocated during Trump's term in 2019, and it has to be spent now. Their poor hands are tied, they’re just following orders
Jerusalem Syndrome: An American tourist was arrested this week in apartheid Israel for destroying two second-century Roman statues at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Police identified the suspect as a radical 40-year-old Jewish-American tourist and said he smashed the statues because he considered them “to be idolatrous and contrary to the Torah.” Meanwhile, the tourist’s lawyer claimed the guy was suffering from a mental disorder that psychiatrists have labeled “the Jerusalem syndrome”. This condition, a form of disorientation believed to be induced by the religious magnetism of the city, is said to cause foreign pilgrims to believe they are figures from the Bible. This defense should come in handy next time I decide to visit and drop a steaming turd on a member of the IDF
